META (FACEBOOK): EVENTS AND ANALYSIS
- EVENT (CONFIRMED: WEDNESDAY, JULY 31, AFTERMARKET): Q2 EARNINGS RESULTS. Meta is expected to post 38.31 billion dollars in revenue, up from Q1 36.45 billion dollars. In addition, the company is expected to post a net income of around 12.81 billion dollars, up from Q1 12.37 billion dollars.
- EVENT (SEPTEMBER 25 - 26): META CONNECT. Connect will showcase a lineup of Meta’s latest digital solutions from its social media and XR umbrella. Meta has not yet revealed details on the event, other than the event will feature a number of expected sessions, featured technology, and speakers such as CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Historically, Connect is an event that reveals, among other things, deep insights into the firm’s XR roadmap. In past events, Connect events have featured the company’s rebrand, Meta Quest 3, and RayBan AR glasses.
COULD META (FACEBOOK) MEANWHILE ANNOUNCE A STOCK- SPLIT?
- STOCK PRICE ACTION: Meta has risen more than 1000% since its Initial Public Offer (IPO) took place in 2012 at a price of $38 a share. The stock was last trading around $500 a share. Please note that the price could decline.
- PEERS FROM THE “MAGNIFICENT 7” HAVE ALREADY HAD STOCK SPLITS. Apple, Amazon, Alphabet (Google), Nvidia, Tesla, Microsoft and Meta (Facebook) make the famously known group of “MAGNIFICENT 7”. All of the companies, except Meta have already had at least one stock split in the past.
- META (FACEBOOK) HAS NEVER BEFORE HAD A STOCK SPLIT. Meta is the only company from the “MAGNIFICANT 7” that has never had a stock split.
- META (FACEBOOK) HAS THE HIGHEST STOCK PRICE PER SHARE AMONG THE “MAGNIFICENT 7” COMPANIES. Currently, Meta has the highest price per share among the companies of “MAGNIFICENT 7”. It currently trades a little over $500, while the others from the group trade between $100 and $200 after conducted stock splits. Microsoft trades around $420. This makes the Meta stock less affordable to smaller (retail) investors, which have grown more influential over the past few years.
