During European trading, the British Pound decreased against the US Dollar, trading below 1.2640 levels.

The GBP/USD currency retreated in the European session following profit taking after good consumer spending data coming out of the UK boosted the pair. In the UK, BoE MPC Member Dhringa will speak (18:00 GMT). In the US, Chicago Fed National Activity for January (0.15 last month) will be released (13:30 GMT).
