In the European session, the German Benchmark Index traded below 22,550 levels.

The German main stock index is on the decline in the European trading session, following German federal elections over the weekend, and as gains in the Food & Beverages, Media and Chemicals sectors were offset by losses in the Construction, Industrials and Retail sectors pushing shares lower.
