In European trading, the US Dollar increased against the Canadian Dollar, trading above 1.4400 levels.
The currency pair has been increasing since this morning’s session following increased fears of US tariffs towards Canada and ahead of the new expected rate cut from the Bank of Canada on January 29th. In Canada, there are no major data releases today. In the US, Core Durable Goods Orders for December (0.1% expected) will be posted (13:30 GMT) and CB Consumer Confidence for January (105.9 exp) will be posted (15:00 GMT).
