In Asian trading, the euro fell slightly against the US Dollar, trading below the 1.0500 mark.
The EUR/USD eased as concerns grew about potential tariffs after the weekend’s quick imposition and then withdrawal of tariffs on Colombia, which suggests the new US administration will not hesitate to implement tariffs in its disagreements with Europe. In Europe ECB President Lagarde will speak (17:00 GMT). In the US, Core Durable Goods Orders for December (0.1% expected) will be released (13:30 GMT) and CB Consumer Confidence for January (105.9 exp) will be posted (15:00 GMT).
