During Asian trading, the British climbed against the US Dollar trading above 1.2200 levels.
The currency pair started the week on a positive note despite expectations that a more protectionist policy from the incoming Trump presidency may cause inflation reducing the possibility of Fed rate cuts this year. In the UK Retail Sales for December (4.2% exp) will be posted (07:00 GMT). In the US, there are no data releases today due to the fact that it's a public holiday.
