In Asian trading, the US Dollar fell against the Canadian Dollar, trading below 1.4500 levels.
The USD/CAD is slightly down this morning as some profit taking took place, after the fourth successive day being in the green following the Bank of Canada decision to cut interest rates by an expected 25 basis points to 3%. Any movement from the US on tariffs that has the potential for a trade conflict could be very disruptive for the Canadian economy. In Canada, GDP for November (-0.1% exp) will be posted this afternoon (13:30 GMT). In the US, Core PCE Price Index figures for December (2.8% exp) will be posted (13:30 GMT).
