  • NEWS (FRIDAY, AUGUST 30): ALIBABA COMPLETES THREE-YEAR REGULATORY. Alibaba has completed a three-year regulatory "rectification" process following an antitrust fine it received for monopolistic practices in 2021, China's market regulator said on Friday. This news could boost investor confidence in Alibaba.
  • NEWS (TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10): ALIBABA UPGRADES HONG KONG LISTING TO PRIMARY STATUS. Alibaba announced the upgrade of its Hong Kong listing to primary status, allowing participation in the 'Stock Connect' program. According to Morgan Stanley, this move could attract up to $12 billion from the 220 million investors on mainland China's stock market within six months.
  • CHINA ANNOUNCES MAJOR STIMULUS MEASURES TO STRENGTHEN ECONOMY: China's central bank will cut the reserve requirement ratio by 50 basis points and reduce key interest rates, freeing up 1 trillion yuan ($142 billion) for lending, while the government is expected to announce a new fiscal stimulus package, including 2 trillion yuan ($284 billion) in special sovereign bonds, to further boost the economy.
